Abstract
This research questioned Kompas and Republika in the term of their construction regarding Israel attact on Lebanon in 2006. This result showed that their construction were different to each other. Kompas elucidated the war between Israel and Lebanon was caused by status quo organization which seized two israelian soldiers and the organization was uncooperative. The organization was Hizbullah. Meanwhile, Republika regarded Israel as an agressor state that wanted to expand its border zona by building new middle east.

Penelitian ini mempermasalahkan Kompas dan Republika dalam hal pengkonstruksian realitas tentang serangan Israel terhadap Libanon pada tahun 2006. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua suratkabar berbeda dalam melakukannya. Koran Kompas memaknai bahwa penyebab terjadinya peperangan antara Israel dengan Libanon, dikarenakan adanya organisasi status quo yang menangkap dua tentara Israel dan sulit diatur oleh negaranya yaitu kelompok Hizbullah. Sedangkan Republika menilai Israel merupakan sebuah negara agresor yang ingin memperluas wilayah perbatasannya dengan membentuk Timur Tengah yang baru.
