MASYARAKAT DAN INFORMASI PRODUK BERDAYA SAING INTERNATIONAL

Abstract
Based on the sixth point of nawacita, this study aims to overview community cognition level regarding economy potential (local products) in their region and the Internet potential to enhance their product competitiveness internationally. Based on the results of data overall analysis, community cognition level about the economy potential (local products) in their region is generally low. A relatively small numbers of community are in moderate and none have high knowledge. Regarding cognition about Internet potential to enhance competitiveness of the local products in the world, most peoples have moderate knowledge, and many of them have low knowledge. This study finds no high knowledgeable community members. Statistically, this study finds no significant relationship between the characteristics and cognition variabel. This is an indicator that among respondents, there are not agentic individuals. It indicates that Kepulauan Seribu peoples are apathetic toward their environment. Further researches are recommended to use extranous variables in the instrument. Because of low cognition of society regarding local economy and the Internet potential as a medium for enhancing local economy to be internationally-competitive, we suggest to make efforts to empower them, to improve their cognition, for example by socialization or technical guidance.

ABSTRAK
Berlatarbelakangkan point ke enam nawacita, penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan gambaran mengenai kadar kognisi masyarakat terkait potensi-potensi ekonomi (produk lokal) dan kognisi terkait potensi internet sebagai sarana peningkat daya saing produk mereka di tingkat international. Hasil analisis over all terhadap data yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik survai menunjukkan bahwa kadar kognisi potensi-potensi ekonomi (produk lokal) umumnya masih relatif rendah. Relatif sedikit jumlah mereka yang sudah relatif sedang dan tidak dijumpai satupun yang sudah berpengetahuan tinggi. Begitupun menyangkut kognisi tentang Potensi Internet sebagai peningkat daya saing produk lokal di kancah international, anggota masyarakat kebanyakan masih berpengetahuan sedang dan masih cukup banyak pula yang masih berpengetahuan rendah. Sementara tidak ditemukan satupun anggota masyarakat yang sudah berpengetahuan tinggi. Secara statistik tidak ditemukan adanya hubungan signifikan antara variabel karakteristik dengan variabel kognisi. Ketidaksignifikanan ini menjadi indikator bahwa di kalangan responden itu umumnya masih belum ditemukan individu-individu yang berkualitas “agentic” dan ini sekaligus mengindikasikan bahwa masyarakat kepulauan seribu itu tampak cenderung apatis terhadap lingkungannya. Untuk pelaksanaan penelitian sejenis di masa mendatang, perlu menyertakan variabel extranous dalam instrumen penelitian. Sehubungan masih banyaknya anggota masyarakat yang kognisinya masih rendah maka perlu dilakukan upaya-upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat guna upaya peningkatan kognisi mereka, misalnya dengan sosialisasi atau bimtek.
