Abstract
Membicarakan persoalan normalitas data dalam kaitan permasalahan penelitian (baca : penelitian komunikasi), secara filosofis ilmu hal ini sebenarnya termasuk menjadi bagian dari telaahan elemen epistemologis. Elemen epistemologis sendiri, secara esensial berarti sebagai suatu elemen yang secara khusus menelaah cara suatu ilmu dalam berupaya menemukan kebenaran ilmiahnya. Selain masalah normalitas data, terkait dengan penelitian komunikasi, maka persoalan-persoalan yang juga termasuk dalam telaah epistemologis ini, diantaranya yaitu menyangkut pre test, paradigma teori, dan paradigma penelitian.
