Disiplin Verifikasi dalam Jurnalisme Media Online detikcom (Verification Discipline in detikcom Online Media Journalism)

Abstract
Pers online menjadi media dengan tingkat preferensi paling tinggi di kalangan masyarakat. Akan tetapi, fleksibilitas media online dalam menyajikan berita berpotensi menimbulkan masalah dalam keberimbangan dan akurasi. Verifikasi fakta menjadi aspek utama dalam menyelesaikan problematika keakuratan berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui standar verifikasi yang diterapkan oleh jurnalis media online detikcom, dan 2) mengetahui objektivitas berita yang dihasilkan dari proses penyuntingan skeptis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnometodologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Standar verifikasi detikcom dilaksanakan dengan metode cross-check data di lapangan dan membandingkannya dengan narasumber terpercaya. Jurnalis detikcom melakukan verifikasi untuk memperoleh akurasi dan keberimbangan berita melalui double verification; 2) Penyuntingan secara skeptis dapat menghasilkan produk jurnalistik yang objektif dan berkualitas. Sikap kritis dalam jurnalisme menjadi hal penting untuk menciptakan objektivitas dan independensi berita. Kajian sejenis selanjutnya dapat memfokuskan pada salah satu elemen verifikasi dalam jurnalisme online untuk memberikan pemahaman secara komprehensif ditinjau dari berbagai sudut pandang
