Radio Strategy to Build Network Society, Case Study of Social Media Usage in Suara Surabaya Media (Strategi Radio untuk Membangun Masyarakat Berjaringan,Studi Kasus Penggunaan Sosial Media di Suara Surabaya Media)

Abstract
Adapt to technological advances in the era of new media, conventional media should be able to perform with the new platform. Include making the convergence of new media-based Computer Mediated Communication (CMC). Working for 33 years and is filled with many achievements, Suara Surabaya (news radio in Surabaya-East Java) always tries to run the function of public sphere and building values, while maintaining the traffic report as a highlight in interactive broadcast format. To sharpen its existence as a mass media public sphere quality provider in Indonesia, Suara Surabayadistribute all content to all the conventional radio-based new media channels owned. E100 Community, container listener community in the virtual world, for example, was born and formed thanks to the loyalty of faithful listeners who often share the news on facebook E100. In this study, the method of analysis used is descriptive qualitative research based on the application of new media on society and Suara Surabaya. Techniques of data collection using interviews and observations.
Beradaptasi dengan kemajuan teknologi di era media baru, media massa konvensional harus mampu tampil dalam bentuk media yang terbarukan. Diantaranya dengan melakukan konvergensi pada media-media baru berbasis computer mediated communication. Sehingga, kekuatan media massa sebagai agen public sphere menjadi berlipat ganda. Berkarya selama 33 tahun dan kaya dengan berbagai penghargaan, radio Suara Surabaya (radio berita di Surabaya, Jawa Timur) selalu berupaya menjalankan fungsi public sphere dan building values, dengan tetap mempertahankan traffic report sebagai program unggulan dalam format siaran interaktifnya. Untuk mempertajam eksistensinya sebagai media massa penyedia public sphere berkualitas di Indonesia, Suara Surabaya mendistribusikan semua konten siaran radio konvensional ke semua kanal berbasis media baru yang dimiliki. Pengintegrasian konten siaran dalam sosial media dilakukan melalui program talk show Connected Generation. Dengan target segmentasi pendengar muda, ada komunitas virtual yang dibentuk di akun facebook E100. Dalam penelitian ini, metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan penerapan society dan new media di Suara Surabaya. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi.
