Karakteristik Kesenjangan Digital di Sumatera Selatan

Abstract
Hingga kini, penetrasi teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di Indonesia masih dihadapkan pada persoalan kesenjangan digital. Upaya menjelaskan fenomena kesenjangan digital ini mendesak untuk dijawab karena pemerintah begitu ekspansif memperkenalkan internet kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan karakteristik kesenjangan digital di Kota Lubuklinggau, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), dan Kota Palembang. Riset dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif-deskriptif dan menggunakan framework “have” dan “have not”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan digital antarkota dalam Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Kesenjangan ini berbentuk perbedaan kepemilikan, akses, dan penggunaan. Kesenjangan digital tidak hanya persoalan akses, tetapi juga persoalan kemampuan, penggunaan, dan ketidakadilan sosial. Kepemilikan, ketersediaan akses, dan penggunaan di daerah urban cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan daerah rural.
