Online Game Effect on Street Children Violence [Efek Game online Terhadap Tindakan Kekerasan Anak Jalanan ]

Abstract
Adolescent spend an average of 7 hours per day to access the media. This phenomenon is happening right now is exposure of violence through the media especially online games. Most online games contain of violence. Street children are vulnerable population as victims and violence subject. Adolescent choosing tendency themed online game violence can trigger teens to violence. The purpose of this study to examines the relationship between online game use with street children violence. Type of study is an observational cross sectional study. We analyzed data on 277 street children aged 10-19 years in Makassar City. Result of the study there is a correlation between playing violent online games with street children (p = 0.013; φ = 0.149). And the government should provide the mobile library at the hotspot of street children work so that it can attract street children to read in their spare time and Street children should use the facility of the Internet to find useful information such as school subjects
Remaja menghabiskan waktu rata-rata 7 jam per hari untuk mengakses media. Fenomena yang terjadi saat ini adalah paparan kekerasan melalui media khususnya game online. Sebagian besar game online mengandung unsur kekerasan. Salah satu kelompok yang rentan menjadi korban ataupun sebagai pelaku tindakan kekerasan adalah anak jalanan usia remaja. Kecenderungan remaja memilih game online bertema kekerasan dapat memicu remaja melakukan tindakan kekerasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat hubungan antara bermain game online dengan tindakan kekerasan anak jalanan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 277 anak jalanan usia 10-19 tahun di Kota Makassar. Hasil penelitian diperoleh ada hubungan antara bermain game online dengan tindakan kekerasan anak jalanan (p=0,013; φ=0,149). Penelitian ini menyarankan kepada pemerintah agar menyediakan fasilitas berupa perpustakaan keliling yang ditempatkan di titik anak jalanan bekerja sehingga dapat menarik minat anak jalanan dan mengisi waktu luangnya untuk membaca buku. Anak jalanan sebaiknya memanfaatkan fasilitas internet untuk mencari informasi yang bermanfaat seperti pelajaran sekolah
