Maintain Print Media Market through Augmented Reality Content (Study on Tribun Jogja Newspaper) [Mempertahankan Pasar Media Cetak melalui Konten Augmented Reality (Studi pada Koran Tribun Jogja)]

Abstrak

The use of technology is an important thing that must be considered by the media business in order to maintain its existence. Tribun Jogja, a local print newspaper in D.I. Yogyakarta and Central Java region south, adding Augmented Reality (AR) content as an effort to integrate technology with conventional media. This study uses case study methody to analyze how the process of adding AR content to Tribun Jogja print newspaper and its impact on the internal organization. From the result of research got that AR content making is done through the decision process of the editorial meeting by considering the availability of data and characteristics of news/information. The use of AR technology has a strategic position, that is to prepare for change and branding as a local print newspaper that is always ahead of innovation. In the organization, the addition of AR affects the changes in news management and also the demands of human resources capable of producing multiplatform news.

Penggunaan teknologi adalah hal penting yang harus diperhatikan oleh pelaku bisnis media agar dapat mempertahankan eksistensinya. Tribun Jogja, koran cetak lokal di wilayah D.I. Yogyakarta dan Jawa Tengah bagian selatan, menambahkan konten Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai upaya memadukan teknologi dengan media konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  studi kasus untuk menganalisis bagaimana proses penambahan konten AR pada koran cetak Tribun Jogja dan dampaknya pada internal organisasi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pembuatan konten AR dilakukan melalui proses keputusan rapat redaksi dengan mempertimbangkan ketersediaan data dan karakteristik berita/informasi.  Penggunaan teknologi AR mempunyai posisi strategis, yaitu untuk mempersiapkan diri menghadapi perubahan dan branding sebagai koran cetak lokal yang selalu terdepan dalam inovasi. Dalam organisasi, penambahan AR berpengaruh pada perubahan manajemen pemberitaan dan tuntutan tersedianya SDM yang mampu menghasilkan berita multiplatform
